Transitioning to the Future of Licensing

Adobe is phasing out the legacy VIP buying program, transitioning fully to the VIP Marketplace (VIP MP) by early 2025. This new, digital platform revolutionizes the Adobe buying experience.

What’s New in VIP Marketplace (VIP MP):

  1. Daily Proration: Licenses added during the term are prorated daily up to the next anniversary date (AD), compared to monthly proration in the legacy VIP program.

  2. Auto-Renewal: Licenses are set to renew automatically on the AD by default. Customers not on a 3-Year Commit (3YC) can opt out, provided changes are made at least three days before the AD. Written consent for auto-renewal is recommended to ensure uninterrupted services.

  3. No Grace Period: Unlike the legacy program, renewals must be planned ahead as there is no 30-day grace period. Customers should finalize their Bill of Materials (BoM) at least two weeks before the AD to avoid disruptions.

  4. 3-Year Commit (3YC): Customers on the 3YC plan cannot opt out of auto-renewal for the three-year period but can adjust licenses for renewal up to the committed quantity. License returns are not allowed under 3YC.

  5. Return Policy: Returns are accepted only if the entire order is returned, the licenses are unused, and the request is made within 14 days of order provisioning. Returns for 3YC are not permissible during the commit period.

Migration from VIP to VIP Marketplace:

  • Mandatory License Migration: All existing licenses must transition to VIP Marketplace, aligning with Adobe’s requirements for improved service delivery.

  • New VIP Marketplace ID: Once migrated, customers will receive a unique ID for managing all future Adobe transactions.

Managing Licenses:

The Admin Console simplifies license management, enabling organizations to assign, reassign, and administer licenses. The first user accepting the VIP MP terms gains initial access and can grant administrative rights to others.

Additional Discounts for 3YC: Customers committing to 3 years receive greater discounts. For example, a Level 2 customer transitions to Level 12 with a 3YC, unlocking higher savings.

Extended Paid-Up-Front Subscription:

Members can prepay for up to 48 months (education) or 36 months (others) before placing their first VIP MP order. This flexible option allows organizations to align purchases with budget cycles while securing extended license periods.
